Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965 was an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her most well-known role is her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The seventh season of the series concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and said that she takes part in Passover seders.
