Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first female vice president and the most powerful female politician in U.S. history, as well as the first African American and first Asian American vice president. She is a member and former US senator who represents California. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected as the city's district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sánchez during the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the second African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as senator in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. A pathway towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She was praised nationally for her pointed questions of Trump administration officials in Senate hearings, which included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and was accused of assault on a woman.
